Lock your devices

Best practice is to lock your device screen anytime you are not using it. Having a 1-minute screen-saver is fine, but you should really have passwords on all of your devices, including:

  • smartphones
  • desktops
  • laptops
  • tablets
  • any other digital accounts

I’m constantly surprised just how many people don’t have any sort of lock on their smart phones. All of them have email access on there. And if your email gets compromised, all your digital identities will be forfeit, including your e-banking, social media accounts, digital products and subscriptions, etc.

So try to build a habit to lock all of your devices.
